Help 32: Triumph Part Numbers

In 1973 Triumph introduced a numerical part numbering system, which supercedes the old alphanumeric system. The 1973 Triumph parts manuals and all part manuals subsequent to 1973 used this numerical part numbering system. The pre-1973 catalogue part numbers are converted to the numerical part numbering systems to be consistent with inventory part numbers. Dealers use the numerical part numbers for stocking and ordering Triumph Parts. When ordering a part from a dealer, with the pre-1973 parts manual, the dealer coverts the alphanumeric part number to the numerical part numbering system. The old alphanumeric numbers convert as follows:

DXXXX becomes 60-XXXX

EXXXX becomes 70-XXXX

E1XXXX becomes 71-XXXX

FXXXX becomes 82-XXXX

F1XXXX becomes 83-XXXX

HXXXX becomes 97-XXXX

SXXXX becomes 21-XXXX

TXXXX becomes 57-XXXX

WXXXX becomes 37-XXXX

There are some exceptions to the above. Your Dealer can help you with these
